Letter To Senetor Natasha Akpoti
#9ja Talks.
Dear Senator Natasha H. Akpoti,
True leadership is defined by courage, and today, you have exemplified that strength once again. Standing firm in the face of intimidation is no small feat, yet you continue to rise—not just for yourself, but for countless women who need a voice.
Your interview on Arise TV was a powerful wake-up call, underscoring the urgent need for leadership driven by governance rather than personal gain. The troubling reality of power being wielded as a tool for exploitation cannot be ignored, and recent revelations only highlight how deep this issue runs.
Sexual harassment remains a pervasive and often unspoken menace in offices, schools, and institutions. Yet, too often, accountability is buried under systemic inertia.
Allegations should be met with swift and thorough investigations, not silence or cover-ups. Unfortunately, in a society where justice is selective, women who speak out are frequently met with resistance rather than support.
Nigeria must do better. Those in positions of power should be held to the same standards they profess to uphold. When faced with serious allegations, integrity demands that leaders step aside, at the very least, until due process is served.
Senator Natasha, your resilience is a beacon of hope.
The fight against oppression is never easy, but history remembers those who stand for justice. I stand with you. ππΎπ€
