Tragedy in Lokoja: Photographer Reportedly Murdered by Colleague

A tragic incident occurred in Lokoja last night involving the suspected murder of a young creative photographer, Aiyepeku Ayo. The alleged killer, identified as Adebayo Pelumi, is said to have brutally attacked and killed Ayo in their shared office space, located near the Kogi Chieftaincy Lodge, not far from the Government House. According to reports, the two were working late editing photos when the incident happened. It’s believed that Adebayo lured Ayo outside, struck him on the head, and killed him. He then allegedly dismembered the victim and attempted to hide the body parts in a refrigerator placed in the back of his Hilux vehicle. An eyewitness, who stumbled upon the horrific scene, was too shocked to raise an alarm but quietly alerted the police. Officers responded quickly and gave chase, but Adebayo managed to escape, abandoning his damaged car in the process. Further information reveals that the suspect is an officer with the Nigerian Correctional Service in Lokoja. It's also been reported that he has a history of violence—his wife reportedly fled to Abuja recently after he allegedly attempted to kill her. Police are currently on the hunt for the suspect, and investigations are ongoing.
