#9ja Talks
Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, better known as Odumodublvck, recently shared the reason behind an invitation he received from Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, to his house for dinner.
According to Odumodublvck, Seyi’s invitation wasn’t driven by a desire for political support, but rather out of genuine admiration for his music.
In a conversation on the Afrobeats Podcast hosted by Adesope, Odumodublvck opened up about his friendships with prominent figures in the entertainment industry. He explained that Seyi Tinubu is one of his friends, and despite his father’s position as president, their bond remains unaffected by politics.
He said, "Rema is my friend, and so is Seyi Tinubu. No matter what people say about his father being the president, Seyi is my friend. When he invited me over for dinner, it wasn’t to get me to back his dad’s presidency. It was because he genuinely loves my music. I come from the streets, and Seyi has no personal gain from being friends with me. He’s just a real one, regardless of what society might say."
Odumodublvck also shared his thoughts on other celebrity friendships, noting his connection with Rema, Burna Boy, and Skepta. He humorously added, “Why would I try to 'famz' Rema or anyone else? Who am I trying to impress? Burna Boy is my spirit animal, and Skepta too. I even dreamt of meeting Burna Boy once, and we were eating pounded yam. It was the first time he’d eaten pounded yam in two years. These things are real to me."
The rapper concluded by expressing his deep faith, emphasizing his strong devotion to Jesus, and stating, "People think I’m just talking for the sake of it, but everything I say aligns with the will of God, and I believe it’s bound on Earth and in Heaven.”
