Jide Kosoko Speaks Out on Alleged Sexual Exploitation in Nollywood

Veteran Nigerian actor Jide Kosoko has addressed concerns regarding sexual exploitation in the Nollywood industry, urging aspiring actors to uphold their dignity and self-respect.

During a recent appearance on the Honest Bunch podcast, Kosoko emphasized that no one should feel pressured to compromise their values in exchange for a role in the industry. He acknowledged that while some individuals may choose to take unethical paths to advance their careers, he encouraged others to remain firm in their principles and not sacrifice their integrity for fame. "If I say I need you to come warm my bed before I can give you a particular movie role and you say you don’t want to, just go. They cannot force you to do that. But if you want that role by all means… I know some ladies that come into the industry determined that by the time I sleep with this person and that person, I will make a name for myself," Kosoko said. His remarks have sparked discussions on the challenges actors face in the industry, with many emphasizing the importance of professionalism and ethical standards in Nollywood.
